The Frosty Smokies

Here are a few images from my drive through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park — and a brief hike before dark — when I was en route from Birmingham, Alabama to Asheville, NC.

frosty trees sunset smokies The trees were frosty and a light snow had dusted the trail to Chimney Tops, where I hiked for about half an hour — just long enough to see some beautiful river scenes and to meet a little moss-haired snow man standing on a log.
